TÁMAS ÁBEL, Hungary
Born in 1991 in Budapest, Hungary. Graduated from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest receiving an AM Glass degree. In 2012 studied at the Estonian Academy of Arts, Tallinn under Erasmus scholarship. A member of Association of Hungarian Fine and Applied Artists, the Hungarian Glass Art Society, the Hungarian Studio of Young Designers Association. The artist presented his solo exhibition and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Hungary, the United Kingdom, Belgium and the Czech Republic. In 2013 he was awarded a Special Prize for Excellent Craft Skills - International Competition of Glass Schools - Junior Glass Match Sanssouci, Karlovy Vary, in 2016 the Hellodesign Talent Award 2015/16 in the Audience Choice Category. The artist enjoys to experiment with glass and techniques and is inspired by observing the environment: the city of Budapest and the people in it. He seeks for signs and traces of humanity and acceptance, tries to filter thoughts and embody ideas that can be best expressed through glass.
